Macmillan Cancer Care
What : Macmillan
Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer.
They are a source of support: providing practical,
medical, emotional and financial support, not only for the patient but
also for their family.
They are a force for change, listening to people
affected by cancer and working together for better cancer care.
Their many services include specialist nursing
care, information centres, cancer care centres and grants to help with
the unexpected costs of living with cancer.
Macmillan Cancer
Support is looking for:
- promoters – it is Macmillan’s
ambition to reach everybody affected by cancer by 2010, they need volunteers
to tell others about their activities and help promote local and national
events within the local community.
- fundraisers – improving
cancer care takes money, so we are looking for individuals to hold their
own events in aid of Macmillan.
- events assistants – Macmillan
needs volunteers to help their events run smoothly. They run a wide
variety of events ranging from abseils and bike rides to golf days and
coffee mornings.
They especially need volunteers to take part in
their supermarkets collections at Tesco stores on 12-13 October 07 &
Morrison stores 9-16 December 07.
